Iran Khatoon Abad Copper Plant

Project Background
        NFC undertakes the process design, main equipment type selection and supply, equipment inspection and transportation, installation and supervision, personnel training, individual unit commissioning, unload linkage commissioning, load linkage commissioning, trial production supervision and guarantee period service for Khatoon Abad Copper Plant which has a capacity of 80,000.t/a anode copper and 30,000 t/a sulfuric acid. The project is not completed at the present time.

Present situation of the project
        The machinery equipment and electric equipment of the smelter have been installed and are now under commissioning. 70% of the instrument installation are finished which part of them are being adjusted. The computer system is not yet installed. Water supply has been provided into plant area and electricity has been transferred into each transformer substation. Part of machinery equipment is power-on and road is connected to the plant.
        The client’s production personnel trained in China are now in site to accept equipment for commissioning.

   

Main technology process
        Khtoon Abad Copper Plant adopts the world’s leading flashing smelting process with the technologies of flash slag electric furnace depletion and converter blowing, anode furnace refining and etc.
        The plant is designed with SCC system for computer on-line control of flash furnace slag composition, matte grade and matte temperature, for concentrative watch and separate control of inspection and control of production equipment and production procedure as well as three-class net connection of PLC-DCS-SCC for automatic system to make the plant reach higher automatic equipment level of modern large-size smelters.

Environment protection solutions
        The flashing smelting process is that of high efficient environment protection. Fume collection device and ventilation device are provided in the place where to produce dust and fume so as to keep good operating environment. After completion of the smelter, flash furnace and converter fume generating main pollution source are used to make sulfuric acid. Harmful drainage produced is discharged after disposal. Now the plant is a modern copper smelter without environmental pollution.
